Robert M. Lilienfeld, President

Bob Lilienfeld has 30 years of marketing, strategic planning, public relations and advertising experience in both the consumer and business-to-business fields.

Planning, Branding, Positioning
Much of Bob’s work focuses on strategic planning, branding and positioning in both the “real” and “virtual” worlds. For example, between 1998 and 2000, he helped Dow Chemical introduce new polymers in three distinct business units. During this time, he also served as de facto marketing director for Dow’s E-Business Group, providing market research, value proposition, positioning and brand development guidance for all of its e-business efforts. He also recently served as Chief Creative and Marketing Officer for Fry Multimedia, a leading Web development firm specializing in the retail and packaged goods sectors.

Strong Marketing Management Track Record
Mr. Lilienfeld has held marketing management positions with consumer packaged goods leaders Procter & Gamble and Georgia-Pacific. His marketing experience also includes stints at Simon & Schuster as Vice President and General Manager of Computer Software, and as Director of Electronic Products for Henson Associates, producers of The Muppets. On the advertising side, Bob held senior positions at two creative giants: At Doyle Dane Bernbach, he managed the $50 million H. J. Heinz account; and at Chiat/Day, he ran the $30 million Dow Chemical account for their business-to-business subsidiary.

Recognized B2C and B2B Expertise
One of Bob’s strongest assets is his experience in both the consumer and business-to-business worlds. On the consumer side, his work has twice been honored by the American Marketing Association (2 Gold Effies for Advertising Effectiveness). On the industrial side, Bob’s work has also been recognized twice by Business Marketing magazine (Sawyer award for best business-to-business ad campaigns).

Commitment to Sustainable Solutions
Besides marketing, Bob has a strong interest in promoting the concept of environmental sustainability and integrating it into long term business planning. He served on the Sustainable Enterprise Institute Advisory Board at the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler School of Business, and held a similar position at the University of Michigan, where he also taught graduate level seminars on strategic planning.

Bob also co-authored the book Use Less Stuff: Environmentalism for Who We Really Are, published by Random House in the Fall of 1998. He is a frequent contributor to public radio on environmental issues, and is regularly seen on CNN and local television news programs throughout the country.

Mr. Lilienfeld earned an MBA in Marketing, Finance and Organization Behavior from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He received his BA in Psychology, also from Northwestern. He lives in Rochester, MI.
